Christopher Wesley challenged us to think about how we recruit volunteers, as well as how we maintain them. Just like our youth ministries need to have an overall purpose so that teens can feel inspired to keep returning, our volunteers also need to have a clear understanding of their roles and why they are there. Show your volunteers gratitude so they feel they are a valued member of youth ministry. Nourish those relationships by listening to their stories!

The main office for OYM has moved to the Catholic Center at 1011 First Ave. in Manhattan. Cynthia and Daniel have moved but for the time being, we still have a satellite office at St. Joseph's Seminary and are working from there on occasion. This move allows us to work more closely with the Catechetical Office, who are our partners in the Department of Youth Faith Formation, to better serve the needs of the young people of the Archdiocese and work to provide better continuity between youth serving programs and organizations. If you're in the area, feel free to stop by and give us a visit at our new diggs.
Pax Christi Metro New York (PCMNY), a regional chapter of International Peace Movement, is pleased to invite you to help us celebrate the good work of young people who are making their world a better, more peaceful place. Do you know a young person of high school age who's actions help promote peace either at home or abroad?
Pope Francis has called for a two year campaign to encourage Catholics to encounter migrants and refugees, called "Share the Journey". The campaign seeks to put a human face on migration and encourage people to see beyond the numbers and truly meet Christ in those around us who leave their homeland behind, oftentimes by necessity.

Every parish in the Archdiocese is receiving a subscription to the incredible Catholic website FORMED.org! FORMED.org is kind of like Netflix for Catholics! It has online streaming videos for adults, youth, and children.
The Archdiocese has provided your parish with a tool called Flocknote that allows you to easily send emails and text messages to your members. It's completely Safe Environment Compliant, it's really easy to learn, and (the best part) it's free for you to use!
