What is the ArchNY Youth Team?
I’m so excited you asked! The ArchNY Youth Team is a motivated, energetic group of teens who come from different areas and backgrounds in the Archdiocese of NY and who want to contribute their talents and voices to keep their peers connected to each other and to their faith.

What does the ArchNY Youth Team actually do?
Members of the ArchNY Youth Team share their experiences with the Office of Youth Ministry to help plan existing events like New York Catholic Youth Day (NYCYD) and Revolution of Change (RoC) service opportunities. Their fresh perspectives also influences decisions on new events and programs. This is an opportunity for you to let your voice be heard and get your hands dirty – helping you and your peers grow closer to the Lord and the work of His Church. Members of the youth team also take on tangible responsibilities and roles in planning and running youth events in the archdiocese.
 
How often does the Youth Leadership Team meet?
We have quarterly meetings, starting with the in-person retreat in August 2019. Some meetings are in person, while others are online via web-conference.

Why apply?
This is a great opportunity for high school students who are looking to gain leadership skills, grow in their faith and work with the Office of Youth Ministry to plan events and programs throughout the archdiocese. We are looking for leaders and motivators! As St. Paul said to St. Timothy, “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” (1 Tim. 4:12) This is also a good opportunity to demonstrate leadership on your resume and college application.  

Who is eligible to be a part of the Youth Leadership Team?
If you are a high school student who is an active participant in your parish youth ministry or campus ministry program in the Archdiocese of New York, we encourage you to apply!

Why do I have to be an active participant in my parish or school ministry?
We want to hear what’s working and what’s not, so we’re looking for people who have that experience to share. By the way, if your parish doesn’t have a youth ministry program and you are interested in participating in our events, email Daniel at [email protected]

How do I apply?
You will find the application in PDF form at the link to the left hand side of this webpage. You will need to fill out the application, write a letter of intent (250-500 words), get a recommendation from your pastor and youth minister/campus minister, and get signed permission from your parent/guardian.
